Banshee Returns?

Remember how I said that there wasn't any interesting Banshee news lately? Didn't I just say that only a mere few hours ago?

According to the newest Marvel solicitations, Banshee is back and on the cover of X-Force #23. It looks like he is one of the X-Men that comes back from the dead in the Necrosha storyline. And by judging the cover, he may not be alive for very much longer.

Banshee does not get the cover of Uncanny X-Men: First Class #7 but I am sure he will be in the series. I hope that Marvel continues with this fun series.

On the otherhand, Banshee is making an appearence along with the X-Men in Marvel Adventures Spider-Man #59.

Time for Change

August 27th was the last day I updated this blog?

THAT IS PATHETIC!

I could use the excuse that there have been no major (or even minor) Banshee news but I think I have used that before. Therefore it is time for a change.

I like Banshee and I like to write. So there is NO excuse for not posting more. So this is the last blog post for the next couple of weeks as I get prepared and write a few columns in advance. I have a bunch of topics that I can possibly cover and I am looking at doing at least one column every two weeks or so.

So what should I write about? Is there really enough Banshee to go around? I think there might be, I can be fairly geeky.

So look for some columns shortly.

Hey! An Update!

You would think that the World's Greatest Banshee Fan(tm) would be blogging left and right about his favorite character but unfortunately, I am also lazy. No major Banshee news has left this fan rather depressed but I do have some tidbits.

I understand that Banshee is not a popular character but he is on a T-shirt. There is a cool X-Men group picture with Banshee included. You can see the T-shirt (and buy it, which I just might) here.

Unfortunately I cannot link the picture of the actual t-shirt but this is the image they used to produce the shirt:

The November Marvel Solicitations have come out and Banshee continues to appear in the Uncanny X-Men: First Class series.

UNCANNY X-MEN: FIRST CLASS #5
Written by Scott Gray, pencils and cover by Roger Cruz.

The world trembles as the sky begins to boil! Professor X attempts a desperate rescue mission on the Starcore One satellite but a threat from galactic legend is waiting! Who are Burning Moon, Cloud Runner and Sky Song, and how are their fates tied to the X-Men? Earth faces destruction as the mutant heroes battle an unstoppable enemy... The Knights of Hykon! (All this and Nick Fury too!)

I'll try to have more timely updates and some other geeky stuff as well.

The Return of Banshee?

The major X-news of the recent San Diego Comic-Con was the next huge storyline called The Blackest Night, oh wait, I mean Necrosha (which has to be one of the lamest titles). At first glance it looks like there might be some characters returning from the grave and I am hoping it is Banshee. Well, I kinda hope it isn't since I don't plan on picking up all the titles (I have never been a huge fan of the New Mutants in any of thier incarnations) but I would pick them up if a certain Irish fellow would appear.

I can always hope.

Banshee is slated to appear in Uncanny X-Men: First Class #3. And from what the preview says, this issue will be centered all on Banshee!

Incredible Herc #129 and Uncanny X-Men #510

Banshee did indeed appear in the Incredible Herc #129 but hardly played any role. The cover was misleading in my opinion, if you count Banshee's appearence on the cover, you already get almost half his appearences in the book. As a Banshee fan, this issue sucked. But it did make me try this series and I did find in enjoyable but not enough to make me pick up the book.

Banshee also made a very small cameo appearence in Uncannt X-Men #510. Cyclops was locked in his mind by the Sisterhood. He was surrounded by his dead teammates, on his right side was Banshee.

Marvel Solicitations August 2009 and more!

The latest Marvel/Previews solicitations are out and I am still happy that Banshee is appearing in a monthly title. He is slated to appear in UNCANNY X-MEN: FIRST CLASS #2.

UPDATE: I e-mailed a question to Chris Claremont in one of CBR's recent X-Position interviews and he did say that Banshee *might* appear in his X-Men Forever series. Unfortunately CBR put my specific question about Banshee in with a bunch of other characters.

UPDATE: Here is the cover to the Classic Marvel Figurine Magazine #100 featuring Banshee!

Banshee is in X-Men Origins: Wolverine!

Didja see the small cameo of the red-haired mutant with the thing covering his mouth?

Of course, Banshee was the FIRST X-Man to be shown in live action. Anyone remember that Generation X pilot that Fox put on years and years ago?

X-Men Origins: Wolverine #1

Banshee makes a small appearence on the last page of this issue. Banshee first meets Wolverine when the New X-Men are formed.

Marvel Solicitations July 2009

The latest Marvel/Previews solicitations have just come out and once again I am happy to see some Banshee!

Uncanny X-Men: First Class #1
Banshee appears on the cover and has an appearance in the book itself. I am looking forward to this series quite a bit and I am really happy that the book is $2.99 and not the usual Marvel $3.99.

I will be interested if Chris Claremont's new book X-men Forever will have some appearances of Banshee. I am waiting for the trade for this series because of the insane cover price of $3.99.

X-Men Legacy #222

Banshee makes a very small cameo at the end of this issue in a flashback. Hopefully he will get more screen time in upcoming issues.

Marvel Solicitations June 2009

The latest Marvel/Previews solicitations have just come out and it looks like Banshee has a couple of appearences.

"Banshee clashes with the hordes of Irish myth!" Banshee appears in his own short story and on the cover to Uncanny X-Men: First Class Giant-Size Special #1.

Banshee appears on the cover of X-Men Legacy #225. It remains to be seen if he actually takes part of the story.

Classic Marvel Figurine Collection Magazine #100 is solicited this month in Previews and features a full magazine devoted to Banshee!

Banshee might appear as one of the "500 slavering Damned" in INCREDIBLE HERCULES #130 but I have not been able to confirm it yet.

Monday, March 23, 2009

Banshee gets his own magazine!

The Classic Marvel Figurine Collection Magazine based out of the UK confirmed that Banshee will appear in #100. Each magazine is filled with a detailed history and background on the featured character, including exclusive images and interviews. Each magazine also comes with a figurine sculpted in lead and hand painted! Take a look at this awesome Banshee!

Banshee featured in new series!

Banshee returns to a new monthly series this June called "Uncanny X-Men: First Class." This was announced about a month ago at WonderCon. This ongoing series will pick up after "X-Men: First Class Finals" series finishes.

Banshee will be apart of the series. Take a look at these hopeful covers!

X-Men Noir #3

Banshee appears in X-Men Noir #3. He is not know by Banshee but by Sean Cassidy. He is a heroin dealer and a current inmate at Welfare Pen. He is also one of Angel's childhood friends.

Uncanny X-Men #500

Banshee sadly only appears just on the cover of the Alex Ross Uncanny X-Men #500 cover.

He also appears on this variant done by Michael Turner.
